Sourdough bagels


What You’ll Need

  • 200g Active Sourdough Starter

  • 500g Warm Water

  • 20g Salt

  • 1000g Bread Flour


Instructions

  1. Combine all i ingredients in stand mixer until just incorporated, let rest for 10 mins.

  2. Knead for 10’mins, using dough hook attachment

  3. Cover & let sit at room temperature for 10-12 hours

  4. Divide into 16 pieces and roll into balls

  5. Rest for 15 mins

  6. Poke holes in the centre and pull towards the outside to make the bagel shape

  7. Rest for 15 mins

  8. Preheat oven 425 degrees and get a pot of water boiling

  9. Add 2 TBSP honey or sugar to the boiling water

  10. Boil each bagel for 30 seconds each side, then transfer to baking sheet

  11. Once all your bagels have been boiled, put them in the oven for 25-30 mins. Rotating them in the oven half way through!


You can add blueberries, cinnamon & raisins, or cheese to the dough! And do all sorts of fun toppings!

Rosemary & Sea salt is a particular favourite of ours
